Halliday, Gaze Propels New Zealand to 162 Against West Indies Women in First Innings

New Zealand Women have posted a decent total of 162 against West Indies Women in the first innings of the ongoing T20 World Cup clash. Isabella Gaze and Brooke Halliday remained the star performers, as both players scored 39 and 40 to give NZ a strong total.

Batting first, New Zealand got off to a good start, as they played well in the powerplay. However, the Caribbean team made a comeback after the first six overs, as they took back-to-back wickets to halt the charge of the Kiwis.

As a result, the scoring rate of New Zealand came down and they went into the rebuilding phase. Fortunately, their middle order batters, Brooke Halliday and Maddy Green made a fine recovery, and propelled New Zealand to a decent total of 162 in the first innings.
