West Indies vs New Zealand 2nd ODI: Campbell Powers West Indies to a Flying Start

West Indies have started strongly against New Zealand in the ongoing 2nd ODI at the Providence Stadium. John Campbell gave them a flying start by scoring quick boundaries, as the visitors failed to contain his momentum throughout the first ten overs.

New Zealand came into this game after losing the last ODI by 7 wickets. They must need to win this match, otherwise WI will take a big 2-0 lead in the series.

Talking about the match, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. Their decision didn’t paid off, as West Indies started strongly in the Powerplay.

John Campbell remained the star performer, as he gave the home side momentum by scoring back-to-back boundaries. Due to his solid striking, West Indies has built a strong platform with which they can march towards a big total.

After playing a quick knock of 43 runs, Campbell lost his wicket in the 13th over, courtesy of some fine bowling by Mitchell Santner. His wicket has given New Zealand some respite, but they need to keep striking to put the pressure back on West Indies.

At the end of the 15th over, West Indies have scored 83 for the loss of two wickets. Their captain Shai Hope is currently looking solid at the crease, making sure to build a steady partnership with Keacy Carty to take the scoreboard forward.
