New Zealand Survive Middle Order Collapse to Beat West Indies in 2nd ODI

New Zealand survived a middle order collapse to beat West Indies in the second ODI at the Providence Stadium. Tom Latham remained their main batter, as he held his nerves to see off a tricky chase in the second innings of the contest.

Batting first, West Indies produced a disappointing performance despite getting a good start. They were bowled out for just 138, as Jayden Lennox took a brilliant five-wicket haul to give the Black Caps an edge in the match.

John Campbell was the only notable performer for West Indies, as he scored quick 43 runs with the help of 4 fours and a six in the first innings.

When New Zealand came out to bat, they started strongly, but lost their way during the middle overs. The spinners of West Indies brought some difficulties for them by picking up quick wickets, however, the brilliance of Tom Latham ultimately saved the visitors. Due to his unbeaten 37 runs, the Black Caps completed the chase in the 33rd over for the loss of five wickets. By winning the match, they squared the series 1-1, which means the upcoming matches will prove to be more competitive.
