New Zealand wrapped up a commanding 3–0 sweep of West Indies with a 4-wicket win in the 3rd ODI at Seddon Park, closing another home series in dominant fashion despite an early wobble in the chase.

West Indies never escaped New Zealand’s grip. Matt Henry bowled with bite and rhythm, bending the new ball and striking throughout his spell to finish with 4 for 43. Jacob Duffy and Mitchell Santner backed him with twin strikes each, leaving West Indies skidding to 161 all out in just 36 overs.

Roston Chase fought for 38 but found little support. Jamieson roughed him up with a rising delivery, and Henry removed him soon after. The tail dragged the score beyond 150, but there was no real backbone to the innings.

New Zealand Stumble Early but Chapman Shifts the Game

The chase started on uneven ground. Matthew Forde and Jayden Seales found early movement and jolted New Zealand by removing the top order in 11 overs. Will Young nibbled at one outside off. Rachin Ravindra’s dismissal deepened the early tremors, and Tom Latham scored only 10.

At 70 for 4, West Indies sensed a window. Mark Chapman slammed it shut. He struck 64 off 63 balls with crisp timing and bold footwork, breaking the grip West Indies had built with the new ball.

Bracewell Finishes the Job with Composed Power

Michael Bracewell joined Chapman and immediately shifted into a higher gear. Their 75-run stand in just 48 balls killed the contest. Chapman holed out near the finish and Santner followed, but New Zealand had long crossed the point of worry. Bracewell stayed unbeaten on 40 and guided the hosts home with almost 20 overs left.

Another Home Series, Another Statement

New Zealand’s 11th straight bilateral ODI series win at home puts them in rare company, a run surpassed only by South Africa’s 17. They have now lost just two home ODIs in nearly five years.

West Indies, meanwhile, leave with a 3–0 scoreline that mirrors their inconsistency. Their batting lacked structure, their attack ran out of ideas after the early burst, and their lower order failed to stretch the innings.

Player Of The Match: Matt Henry (4/43)
