Nahid Rana Applauds Former Pakistan Coach for Exceptional First ODI Performance

Nahid Rana Applauds Former Pakistan Coach for Exceptional First ODI Performance

Young Bangladesh pace sensation Nahid Rana gave credit to the former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait for helping him produce an outstanding performance in the first ODI against Pakistan. He said Tait is a remarkable coach who behaves like a friend with everyone to nurture a calm environment within the team.

"To be honest, he (Tait) is an outstanding coach because he behaves with us not only as a coach but also as a friend," said Nahid Rana.

Nahid further applauded Tait’s coaching style, saying he always helps bowlers by giving them exact plans to get success in the match.

"Whenever we need something, he provides it. He always tells us to stick to our strengths and to let him know if we need anything. He says, 'Whatever you need, just tell me. I am here to guide you. You will play on the field, I will give you the plan, and you have to execute it and win the match.' So he always motivates us and gives us the best guidance." added Nahid Rana.

When asked about his take on bowling with greater pace in international cricket, Nahid Rana said that he does not think too much about producing more pace, as skills matter more at this level.

"Honestly, I don't think too much about speed. In international cricket, skill matters more than pure pace. So I am trying to work more on improving my skills,” said Nahid Rana.

He then gave credit to the senior pacers of Bangladesh, saying both Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed helped him to understand the pace of the wicket and bowl precise lines and lengths.

"In the beginning, Fizz Bhai (Mustafizur Rahman) and Taskin Bhai (Taskin Ahmed) were bowling. I was talking with them on the field about what was happening on the wicket. They told me that if you hit the right areas or maintain a proper line and length in certain spots, it becomes difficult for the batters to play. So I just tried to execute that on the field,” said Nahid Rana.
