Rising Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana has opened up about his growth as a fast bowler. He credited former Pakistan coach Shaun Tait for his development, saying he played a major role in helping him develop new skills without overcomplicating his style.
Nahid Rana was the most notable pacer during the recent Pakistan white-ball series. After that, he has now performed well in the Bangladesh vs New Zealand series, which helped him earn another Player of the Series award.
“He (Tait) thinks exactly the same way as I do and he lets me think in my way. He sees how I want to earn success and he tries to nurture that, which is something I like a lot,” said Nahid Rana.
“My mentality and his mentality are quite similar and when we work together in practice it becomes easy as we think along the same line.” added Nahid Rana.
He then talked about the importance of playing with Mustafizur Rahman, saying sharing the dressing room with him and other senior stars is quite special.
“Actually, being able to play with him (Mustafizur) is somewhat close to the word dream. When I was a kid, fast bowlers meant Mustafizur bhai and Taskin bhai. I used to watch them a lot. Back then, I never imagined I would play international cricket alongside them.” said Nahid Rana.
Nahid then revealed that he always tries to learn plenty of things from Mustafizur Rahman, who always guides him with valuable suggestions.
“To be honest, it makes me feel very positive and I always try to learn something from Fizz bhai. He always willingly helps me and everyone. Whenever I need advice on the field, I go to him and he guides me on what to do and what to avoid,” said Nahid Rana.
