Mustafizur Rahman’s NOC Revoked By Bangladesh For PSL 2026

Mustafizur Rahman’s NOC Revoked By Bangladesh For PSL 2026

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has barred Mustafizur Rahman from participating in the upcoming PSL matches. The board announced recently that it has taken back the No Objection Certificate (NOC) given to experienced pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining matches of PSL 2026.

Mustafizur Rahman, who was signed by Lahore Qalandars for the ongoing tournament, had played five matches before leaving for national duty, as Bangladesh hosted New Zealand in a three-match ODI series that ended earlier today. He was expected to rejoin the Qalandars squad after the series and stay available until May 3.

However, in the latest update, the BCB said its medical panel reviewed Mustafizur’s condition and decided that he will undergo scans, after which he will begin his rehabilitation in Bangladesh. This means that he won’t be able to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming PSL games.

"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that, following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the team's medical staff has reviewed the condition of national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman," said the BCB statement.

"It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team." added the BCB statement.

The board specifically didn’t announce the nature or severity of Mustafizur’s injury, but revealed that he won’t be able to take part in the upcoming PSL games.

"In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026." said the BCB statement.

Besides Mustafizur, the BCB has also barred Nahid Rana from returning to the PSL 2026, stating that he will remain in Bangladesh to prepare for the upcoming test series against Pakistan.

"The BCB would also like to inform that fast bowler Nahid Rana will not be released for PSL 2026. This decision has been taken to allow him adequate time to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month." said the BCB statement.
