Multan Sultans vs RawalPindiz Live: Rizwan Falls as Pindiz Struggle in PSL 11 Powerplay

Multan Sultans’ decision to field first proved fruitful during the opening exchanges at Gaddafi Stadium today, as they restricted Rawalpindi Pindiz to 52/2 by the end of the Powerplay in Match 14 of PSL 11. 

The Sultans' tactical decision to bowl first paid off spectacularly when Mohammad Ismail drew first blood, dismissing Yasir Khan (5) early in the piece. However, the definitive blow came just before the fielding restrictions eased. Pindiz captain Mohammad Rizwan, who appeared to be finding his rhythm with a flurry of boundaries in a brisk 19, was undone by a sharp delivery from Arafat Minhas. However, Kamran Ghulam provided aggressive support with a six to keep the scoreboard moving at over eight runs per over.

Rizwan’s departure has left a massive void at the top of the order for the struggling Pindiz. The Sultans opted for an unchanged bowling unit featuring Ismail, Peter Siddle, and Mohammad Nawaz to handle the early fielding restrictions. 

With the Powerplay concluded, the Pindiz have established a solid platform, while the Sultans look to their spinners to dry up the runs in the middle overs.
