KARACHI: 2021 champions Multan Sultans have added experienced all-rounder Muhammad Imran Randhawa to their PSL 11 squad as a direct signing. The move comes as the franchise gears up for the upcoming season, set to run from March 26 to May 3.
Randhawa, 29, brings a wealth of domestic experience, having played 60 T20 matches, scoring 746 runs at an average of 20.16 with a strike rate of 132.97, alongside 38 wickets at 32.28. His PSL experience includes a single appearance for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2020 edition.
"Multan Sultans are incredibly proud to announce the signing of seasoned all-rounder Muhammad Imran Randhawa for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season," the franchise stated. "Hailing from the Bahawalpur region of South Punjab, Randhawa's inclusion is a testament to perseverance, hard work, and the franchise's commitment to rewarding domestic excellence."
Randhawa expressed immense gratitude following his late inclusion, praising CEO Gohar Shah for providing the opportunity. "It's like an angel, Gohar Shah, has come to give me a chance that never looked like coming. There were times when it felt like this door would never open for me, but I'm so glad I kept going," he said. "I am ready to give absolutely everything for this franchise and prove that I belong on this stage."
The signing was made possible after PSL management allowed Multan Sultans an increment of PKR 1.2 crore in their salary cap and approved a squad expansion to 22 players, following the franchise’s recent ownership change.
The defending champions will kick off their campaign on March 28 against three-time winners Islamabad United at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Multan Sultans’ confirmed squad for PSL 11 includes Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Faisal Akram, Saad Masood, Steve Smith, Arafat Minhas, Sahibzada Farhan, Ashton Turner (c), Peter Siddle, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lachlan Shaw, Delano Potgieter, Josh Phillippe, Shan Masood, Momin Qamar, Muhammad Awais Zafar, Muhammad Shahzad, and new signing Imran Randhawa.
