Monty Panesar Warns India Not to Underestimate Pakistan in the Asia Cup Final

The unpredictability of the Pakistan team is well known in the world, as the green shirts have produced plenty of surprising performances when no one expected anything from them. Based on such facts, former England player Monty Panesar has warned India not to underestimate Pakistan in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 Final.

The former spinner said that the Pakistan team has marched into the final on the back of strong performances in the Super Four stage. They have nothing to lose, hence their players will play with a fearless mindset in the final against India.  

“Pakistan is a dangerous team. They’ve got nothing to lose. In the final, they could play their best cricket, even though India has been the most consistent team throughout the tournament. India needs to be really mindful,” said Monty Panesar.

The England spinner emphasized that though the Pakistan team isn’t that strong as it once was, it can still beat anyone on the given day on the back of some special performances.

“Pakistan is probably not as strong as it once was, but on its day, it can still beat India. They must be careful not to become too complacent,” said Panesar.

Pakistan and India will now face each other on Sunday in the all-important Asia Cup 2025 Final. The green shirts will come into the game with a lot of confidence, as they have performed remarkably well by defeating Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the last two games.
