LAHORE: Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has issued a challenge to the national women's team to demonstrate bravery and confidence in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. Talking to the players before their campaign, Naqvi stated that it was essential to play without fear and concentrate on teamwork.
Naqvi lauded the team for their performance in the recent series against South Africa, which he said had the fighting spirit and commitment on the field. He gave the players an assurance that the country stood squarely behind them as they geared up for a tough tournament against the best sides in the world.
Naqvi addressed the squad by telling them to play freely, play with belief, and to fight till the final ball.
“You will achieve success when you trust yourselves and your team”.
The Pakistan women's team has been undertaking massive preparations for the World Cup, with a strong emphasis on discipline, fitness, and sharpening their game strategies. The side will feature senior players such as Sidra Amin and captain Nida Dar, who will be expected to serve as experienced mentors to the team as the young players seek to establish themselves in the international arena.
With teams such as India, Australia, and England in their group, Pakistan will encounter stiff competition. Still, Naqvi believes that the team possesses the talent and potential to deliver strong performances. He reminded the players that fearless cricket is often the key to historic wins, and he encouraged them to bring the same mindset into the World Cup.
The tournament, scheduled to take place between September 30 and November 2, will see Pakistan begin their campaign against Bangladesh. Fans from around the world are likely to follow the matches closely, and every ball is expected to bring high-stakes action and drama.
Pakistan fans still have hopes of their team peaking at the right time, and the inspirational speech delivered by Naqvi has further boosted the morale at the camp. Not only is the World Cup a chance to win silverware, but it is also a chance for Pakistan to demonstrate its development in women's cricket in the international arena.
