Pakistan’s cricket team once again proved why they are the kings of the Hong Kong Sixes, lifting their 6th title with a huge 43-run win over Kuwait in Mong Kok on Sunday. The victory came on the back of a strong combination of power-hitting and disciplined bowling, earning plaudits from PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who hailed the team’s performance as a “fantastic display of skill, passion, and teamwork.”

“Congratulations to the Pakistan Cricket Team and the entire nation on winning the Hong Kong Super Sixes title. A fantastic display of skill, passion, and teamwork truly showcasing Pakistan’s cricketing spirit at its best,” Naqvi wrote on X.

Pakistan set the tone immediately. Khawaja Nafay blazed a trail with 22 runs off just 6 balls, taking the attack straight to the Kuwaiti bowlers. Abdul Samad kept the momentum, smashing 42 off 13 deliveries, while captain Abbas Afridi turned the innings into a spectacle. 

Afridi’s 52 from 11 balls, featuring 7 towering sixes, put Kuwait on the back foot before he retired hurt. These stunning knocks ensured Pakistan finished with a massive 135 for 3 in 6 overs.

Kuwait didn't match the moment as Pakistani bowlers quickly dominated the match. Maaz Sadaqat’s left-arm spin proved lethal, claiming 3 key wickets for 29 runs, while Afridi and Muhammad Shahzad chipped in to tighten the screws. Despite Bhavsar’s unbeaten 33 and Adnan Idrees’ quick 30, the visitors could only reach 92, handing Pakistan a comfortable 43-run victory.

The win capped a thrilling campaign for Pakistan, which had included a nerve-wracking semi-final against Australia. Khawaja Nafay was the batting hero of the match, scoring 50 of just 14 deliveries before retiring hurt. 

Naqvi’s praise highlighted the balance that powered Pakistan through the tournament.
