KARACHI: Mohammad Haris crossed the 1000-run mark in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during Peshawar Zalmi’s match against Multan Sultans at the National Stadium. The wicketkeeper-batter reached the milestone early in the innings with a six off Mohammad Nawaz.
The 25-year-old became the 31st player in PSL history to achieve the feat, joining a list that includes Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed. Haris entered the game just short of the landmark and reached it inside the powerplay.
Haris played a brief but aggressive knock before being dismissed by Peter Siddle. He scored 38 off 17 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes, providing Peshawar Zalmi with a fast start in a key fixture.
His innings took his overall PSL tally past 1000 runs in 42 innings. He has maintained a strike rate above 160, along with four half-centuries in the competition.
By maintaining a massive strike rate of 223, he successfully dismantled the Multan Sultans' bowling rhythm and created scoreboard pressure. His innings made it possible for Peshawar Zalmi to win this match by 24 runs.
