Mitchell Santner Aims to ‘Silence the Crowd’ in T20 World Cup Final Against India

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner is aiming to silence the Indian crowd by winning the T20 World Cup final at Ahmedabad. He believes the Black Caps have the capability to win the upcoming match, as their players have performed well in the mega event.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mitchell Santner said that his team will try to play the final against India fearlessly, so that they can silence the home crowd at Ahmedabad.

"I guess that's the goal, is to silence the crowd," said the New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner.

When asked which team looks favorite to win the ICC T20 World Cup final, Santner said that the nature of T20 cricket is quite fickle, which means anyone can have a bad day despite performing strongly previously.

"T20 cricket is fickle at times. We've seen South Africa playing very good cricket all the way through and then had a little hiccup against us and out," said Mitchell Santner.

He further stated that New Zealand will draw confidence from their victory in the semi-final to defeat another ‘big’ team in the upcoming clash.

“So I think for us, it's taking confidence from that, and if we go about our business the same way, we can upset another big team," said Mitchell Santner.

Speaking about how much pressure would be on India, Santner said that they would certainly feel some heat because of playing on home ground. Considering this, the Black Caps will try to take advantage of that to gain an edge in the match.

"So I think that comes with a lot of added pressure as well. So if we can go out there and try and put, I guess, that added pressure on them and see what happens." concluded Mitchell Santner.
