MI London Send London Spirit Crashing Out Of The Hundred 2026

London Spirit were knocked out of The Hundred after suffering a four-wicket defeat against MI London in front of a record crowd at Lord's.

MI London were chasing 161 and looked unlikely to complete the target after needing 70 runs from 37 balls. However, Sam Curran's 33 and a quick 32 from Sikandar Raza brought them close to victory.

Raza, who was playing his first match of the tournament after replacing Rashid Khan, played an aggressive knock that included four sixes before being dismissed with only six runs left to win.

Sam Curran took time to get going after scoring just one run from his first seven balls, but he later increased the pace and built the chase with Nicholas Pooran, who scored 39 before a brilliant run-out by David Willey gave London Spirit some hope.

Raza then took charge of the attack with his quick hitting, while Tom Curran and Ollie Pope stayed calm to finish the chase with six balls remaining.

In the first innings, London Spirit opener Lhuan-Dre Pretorius played an impressive knock of 52 runs from 28 balls before being dismissed in a stunning boundary catch involving Will Jacks' diving effort.

David Willey then added 31 runs from 18 balls, while James Coles, who was the most expensive pick at this year's auction, remained unbeaten on 30 to help Spirit post a challenging total of 160-5.

However, their inconsistent performances continued to be a problem, as they managed only one win from six games in what has been a disappointing season for head coach Andy Flower. Meanwhile, MI London moved up to second place in the standings and strengthened their chances of reaching the knockout stage.
