South Africa are currently enjoying a stellar form in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Their performance against Pakistan in the last match was quite exceptional. They dominated in both innings by keeping pressure on Pakistan consistently. As a result, they won the match by a big margin of 150 runs, knocking Pakistan out of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.

The star performer of that match was none other than Marizanne Kapp. She performed superbly with both bat and ball, giving South Africa a huge edge over Pakistan. The all-round skills of Marizanne Kapp gave South Africa a leverage in both innings, something that was missed badly in the Pakistan lineup during the game.

When South Africa lost their tournament opener against England by 10 wickets, they were disappointed and dejected. However, the leadership of Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp turned things around for them quickly. Both of these senior players lifted the spirits of South Africa by performing strongly in the next games. This was specifically highlighted by Kapp in a recent press conference, where she said that losing the match didn’t disrupt their goals in the tournament.

"We were very disappointed with that performance against England. Luckily, we turned it around very quickly. I think that's down to the goals we've had and the hard work we've been putting in,” said Marizanne Kapp.

She then praised the spirit of her team by saying that they believe in collective performances. It is certainly the main objective of South Africa, which has so far worked for them in the tournament.

"The beauty of this team is that we've not relied on one person. More people are starting to click and put in performances," said Marizanne Kapp.

Speaking about the performances of Nadine de Klerk, she said that the young all-rounder has impressed many people in this tournament with her gameplay. She herself has always rated Nadine very high, and her performances in this tournament have perfectly justified that faith.

"We've always known Nadine's very talented. I've always rated her. I've always said she's a very good batting allrounder. In the last few years, I think it's been about the bowling, but this year her batting is really clicking," said Marizanne Kapp.

She then praised the performance of batters which has been really good in this year’s tournament. Meanwhile, she also expressed minor concerns about the bowling department, saying that the bowlers need to tighten up a bit in the upcoming games.

"The batters have been very proactive. The intent is there, as well as the scoring shots. I think we can tighten up a little bit on the bowling side of things. Even though we've done well, we've bowled some loose deliveries. But in general, we're happy with where we are at the moment," said Marizanne Kapp.

South Africa has now qualified for the knockout stages of Women’s World Cup 2025. They are confident of carrying the same momentum into the upcoming matches, as the competition is now becoming tougher with the presence of top teams.
