Bangladesh Players Lack Clarity on T20 World Cup Roadmap, Says Litton Das

Bangladesh Players Lack Clarity on T20 World Cup Roadmap, Says Litton Das

The ICC’s decision on Bangladesh’s request to change venues is still pending, which has created some uncertainty around its team’s participation in the mega event. As per the directives of the government, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has so far remained firm on its stance of not touring India for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

The captain of Bangladesh, Litton Das, recently revealed that the team is uncertain about their participation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He said the situation is not ideal, although the players still have some time to prepare mentally to take part in the event, should the board allow participation.

"If we had known who our group opponents were [in the World Cup] or which country we were going to, that would have helped. You have seen that we have announced the squad, but until now, no player knows which country we are going to or whom we will play against. Like me, the whole of Bangladesh is now uncertain." said Bangladesh captain Litton Das.

He further added that, while there is still plenty of time before the T20 World Cup, the players have no idea whether they will be participating or not.

"Are you sure that we are going to the World Cup? In reality, there is still a long time left before the World Cup, and we are not even sure whether we will go or not." said Litton Das.

Speaking further about the uncertain situation, he said the scenario is not ideal for the team, but they will try to adapt to any decision that emerges in the coming days.

"Many things in life are not ideal, but you have to accept them according to the situation. Playing so many matches in the BPL was not ideal either, but we still had to play." concluded Bangladesh captain Litton Das.
