Dawson Highlights Strength of England’s Versatile Spin Attack Ahead of Pakistan Clash

England has a potent spin attack in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026. They have showcased that their bowlers can adapt to the Sri Lankan conditions by keeping things tight through spin bowling. Liam Dawson also endorsed this fact, saying England have come to the mega event with a versatile spin attack.

"We're all very different types of spinners. Jacksy gets a lot of overspin and a lot of bounce. Dilly [Rashid] has all his variations. Me - I sort of don't get the bounce that the other two get. It will be a different challenge on Tuesday night [against Pakistan]. We might get a better batting wicket. We'll have to see." said Liam Dawson while talking to the reporters.

Speaking about Pallekele, where the upcoming England vs Pakistan match will be played, Dawson said it is a unique ground where bowlers can come into the game at any stage.

"The beauty of this ground is that you can bowl whenever and be versatile. We've got four good spinners, with Bethell. And we've exploited conditions here in the past. If it's a lot better wicket on Tuesday, we might need different plans and to work differently.” said Liam Dawson.

He then applauded the captaincy skills of Harry Brook, saying he utilized every bowler perfectly in the last match against Sri Lanka.

"I think the way Harry Brook captained against Sri Lanka was phenomenal - he used us all differently," Dawson said. "There's a lot of trust in the guys to go and execute." said Liam Dawson.

The upcoming match between England vs Pakistan is expected to be a thriller, because both sides have quality spinners. Dawson has full confidence in England’s abilities that they can continue their winning run after beating the tournament hosts in the last match.
