Lahore vs Quetta Live: Fakhar Zaman's Half-Century Moves Qalandars to a Strong Position After 11

Lahore vs Quetta Live: Fakhar Zaman's Half-Century Moves Qalandars to a Strong Position After 11

LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first against Quetta Gladiators in a pivotal Match 30 of PSL 11 (2026) at Gaddafi Stadium. The decision to set a target appears to be a calculated move by the Qalandars' management, looking to exploit a flat Gaddafi surface and put scoreboard pressure on a Gladiators side that chased comfortably in their previous encounter.

The Qalandars have justified that decision, racing to a commanding position of 105/2 at the 11-over mark. The innings has been defined by a vintage display of power-hitting from opener Fakhar Zaman, who remains unbeaten on 65 off just 35 deliveries. His knock, punctuated by eight boundaries and three massive sixes, has kept the Gladiators' bowling unit on the back foot.

Despite the onslaught, the Gladiators have managed to strike twice to keep themselves in the contest. The initial breakthrough came via Saqib Khan, who trapped Mohammad Farooq (4) LBW in the second over after a shaky start. The second scalp was that of Abdullah Shafique, who had managed 14 runs before being deceived by the flight of mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, falling just as he looked to shift gears.

Charith Asalanka has since joined Zaman, adding a steady 14 off 10 balls to ensure the momentum remains with the home side. For the Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed has been the pick of the bowlers with figures of 1/16, while Khalil Ahmed has also chipped in with a wicket.

With heavy hitters like Sikandar Raza still in the dugout and nine overs remaining, Lahore is well-positioned to post a target in excess of 190.
