“I Am Living My Dream” – Khamzat Chimaev Claims Outside Earnings Top UFC Pay Ahead of Sean Strickland Title Clash

Khamzat Chimaev has said that his income outside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) exceeds what he earns inside the promotion, as he prepares for his first title defence against Sean Strickland at UFC 328 on May 9.

The middleweight champion secured the belt in August 2025 after defeating Dricus Du Plessis at United Center. Chimaev dominated the bout over five rounds, earning a unanimous decision with all three judges scoring it 50-44.

Activity Concerns and Fighting Record

Despite holding an undefeated record, Chimaev has faced questions over limited activity in recent periods. However, his performances inside the octagon have remained consistent. He has recorded multiple knockout victories, with several finishes coming in the opening round, reinforcing his reputation as a decisive finisher.

Commercial Value Beyond the UFC

Speaking about his financial position, Chimaev pointed to opportunities outside the UFC as a key source of income.

“I am making millions and people are just talking and doing nothing, if you do your work I don’t need to watch how often you work or how much you get,” Khamzat said.

“I care about myself, how much I make, how much I get.”

He added that his growing profile has increased demand from sponsors and commercial partners.

“Of course, I’ve been living in the gym and now I am living my dream.

“I make more money out of the UFC because of what I’ve become, like ‘Khamzat Chimaev’.

“Wherever I go, people want to sponsor me, they want to do different things with me and they send this and that.”

The upcoming fight at UFC 328 will mark his first defence since becoming champion and is expected to draw attention both inside and outside the promotion.
