Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans Live: Kings' Top-Order Collapses in Powerplay

KARACHI: Chasing a mammoth 208-run target set by the Multan Sultans, the Karachi Kings have endured a disastrous start to the second innings at the National Stadium. Kings’ reshuffled top order failed to find stability, ending the Powerplay reeling at 49/3.

The chase began with a glimmer of hope in the 1st over as Saad Baig dispatched Abbas Afridi for two boundaries, signaling intent. However, the momentum was short-lived. In the 3rd over, Jason Roy (16) was undone by a slower-ball variation from Arafat Minhas. 

The 5th over offered no respite as Salman Ali Agha struggled to rotate strike against Arafat Minhas, eventually falling for just 2 in the 6th over to leave Karachi 2 down.

In the very next over, Peter Siddle produced the crucial breakthrough, removing Saad Baig (21) who fell to a sharp catch by Mohammad Imran. 

By the end of the Powerplay, stand-in captain Moeen Ali and Reeza Hendricks were left to pick up the pieces with the required run rate already soaring above 11.
