Karachi Kings Renew PSL Franchise Rights for Another Decade

LAHORE: One of the most popular teams in Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is popularly known as Karachi Kings, will enjoy the right to their franchise for the next 10 years, having successfully renewed their rights on Tuesday.

The 2020 champions upheld their long-term commitment by renewing the deal, based on the revised market valuation conducted by Ernst & Young, a reputable global audit and advisory firm.

This extension demonstrates further confidence in the expanding business potential and excellent brand of HBL PSL, particularly since the league is also on the verge of adding eight new teams in the upcoming season 11.

“It is a pleasure to announce that Karachi Kings will continue with their existing owners for another 10 years,” said PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

“Mr. Salman Iqbal and his team have played a pivotal role in elevating the stature of the HBL PSL and in building a franchise that commands a passionate following across the country and beyond.

“Their decision to renew reflects the enduring strength and potential of the league.

“Karachi Kings have consistently contributed to the league’s growth and to the promotion of cricket in Pakistan.

“We look forward to strengthening this partnership and further advancing our shared vision for the development of the game.”

PSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Naseer also praised the management and owners of Karachi Kings for their collaboration in extending the partnership for another decade.

“Karachi Kings have been an integral part of the HBL PSL’s journey, bringing energy, ambition, and excellence to the league season after season,” said Naseer.

“We are delighted to continue working with Salman Iqbal and his management team over the next decade and hope that he continues to contribute beyond the call of duty.

Karachi Kings won the PSL title in 2020 and remain one of the most recognizable franchises in the league in terms of popularity and commercial impact.
