Italian giants Juventus made a dominant start to their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, comfortably beating Al Ain 5–0 on Tuesday night in the tournament’s opening match.

The match, held at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, saw Juventus control possession and create most of the chances. Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović opened the scoring early in the first half with a sharp finish inside the box. Goals from Chiesa, Locatelli, Kean, and Yildiz followed as the Italian side completely outclassed their opponents.

Al Ain, representing the AFC Champions League, struggled to keep up with the tempo and had very few opportunities on goal. Despite the support of a vocal crowd, the UAE-based side couldn’t recover after conceding twice in the first 20 minutes.

Igor Tudor explained post-match to Flash Score: "I felt like the team really cared about this match, they were really motivated. They were on their mettle. They have that desire.

This marks Juventus’ first appearance in the revamped Club World Cup format, which now features 32 teams and runs more like a mini World Cup. The Italian club are now through to the next stage and could face strong opposition, including teams from South America or Europe.

Juventus will face their next opponent later this week, as they continue their push for a historic first Club World Cup title.
