Jos Buttler Becomes All-Time Leading Run-Scorer by Overtaking Kieron Pollard in T20 Runs Chart

Jos Buttler became the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket history after passing Kieron Pollard's record. The England star played a match-winning knock, hitting 6 sixes as Manchester Super Giants ended their three-match losing run with a big victory over Welsh Fire.

Buttler moved past Pollard's career tally of 14,803 runs when he hit the first of three consecutive sixes against Marco Jansen. After reaching the milestone, he said he was very proud of the achievement.

It should be noted that the runs scored in The Hundred are included in T20 statistics, as the tournament follows a format similar to the shortest format with 20 five-ball overs.

"It's really cool, actually, to think you've got the most T20 runs out of anyone. Someone will surpass it one day, and his name's probably [Vaibhav] Sooryavanshi, but it's a proud moment.” said Jos Buttler after the match.

"We played against MI London last game and it would have been nice to get past Polly while he was there and sat in the dugout, but there's some great names on there, some special players, so I'm really proud of that." added Jos Buttler.

Buttler had a difficult period during the winter as he struggled to score runs. He managed only 87 runs in eight innings at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which raised questions about his future in the game. However, he said he was happy with the effort and determination he showed to regain his form.

"It's funny how quickly cricket can change: one day you're the dog, one day you're the lamppost. A few months ago, I was struggling for form, and in the last few weeks especially, I probably feel like I'm batting as well as I ever have.” said Jos Buttler.

"You've only ever got two options: you either give up, or you've got the energy to keep going and try to rediscover your form. I've had enough energy and determination to try and get back there, and that's what I've done." added Jos Buttler.
