Pickford Sends Clear Message Ahead of World Cup Semi-Final Clash Against Argentina

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford believes his team will stay calm in the upcoming World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

The rivalry between England and Argentina is one of the biggest in world football, shaped by memorable moments both on and off the pitch.

Pickford said England have largely stayed away from controversy during the 2026 World Cup and are ready to handle the pressure of such a high-profile match.

"I think you've seen throughout the tournament our desire to win tackles. We've not got into any scuffles or anything," said Jordan Pickford while talking to the reporters.

"We've been very well respected within the game. Decisions go our way, they don't go our way, we just reset, we go again and we let the football do the talking.” added Jordan Pickford.

Pickford then spoke about Lionel Messi, saying he will naturally be the center of attention because he is one of the greatest players in football history.

"Everyone will talk about Messi because he's one of the GOATs (greatest of all time) of the game," said England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

He then highlighted the prominence of the England team, saying his side cannot be underestimated as they have got everything to beat Argentina in the upcoming World Cup semi-final.

"But you can't look past the ability and the talent we've got in the squad, going forward, defensively, togetherness. We've got it all there and that's what we need to put on a show on Wednesday." said Jordan Pickford.
