Islamabad United vs Rawalpindiz Live: Sameer Minhas Blitz Drags United to 67/1 in Powerplay Chase

In a thrilling encounter at the Gaddafi Stadium, Islamabad United seized control of their chase against the Rawalpindi Pindiz, finishing the second powerplay at a formidable 67/1.

The chase began with immediate intent from 19-year-old sensation Sameer Minhas, who clinically dismantled the Pindiz's pace attack. Minhas dominated the early exchanges, showcasing a "baseball-style" straight drive for boundary and navigating the point area with precision.

By the end of the sixth over, Minhas had raced toward a half-century, anchoring the innings with aggressive strokeplay that left the Rawalpindi fielders scrambling.

The Rawalpindi Pindiz did find a late breakthrough in the final over of the powerplay. Veteran seamer Mohammad Amir dismissed the struggling Devon Conway, who holed out to deep mid-wicket off a slower delivery.

Despite the wicket, the momentum remained firmly with the two-time champions, as they successfully exploited the fielding restrictions to stay well ahead of the required run rate. With 133 runs still needed from 14 overs and nine wickets in hand, Islamabad United enters the middle overs as clear favourites in this derby.
