Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans Live: Shadab Opts to Bowl First

KARACHI: Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to field first against the Multan Sultans in the final group-stage encounter of PSL 11 at the National Stadium.

With both teams jockeying for a top-two finish to secure the "double chance" in the playoffs, Shadab’s decision to bowl was influenced by the notorious evening dew factor in Karachi and a pitch that appeared to have a slight greenish tinge. 

"The wicket looks fresh, and we want to make use of any early lateral movement," Shadab noted at the toss. "In a pressure game like this, we prefer having a target in front of us."

Multan Sultans skipper Ashton Turner expressed no disappointment at being asked to bat first. "We were looking to set a total regardless. It’s a good surface, and if we can put 180-plus on the board, the pressure of a big chase in the final league game can do the work for us," Turner said. 

As the lights take full effect, the winner of this clash will leapfrog into second place, securing a date with the table-toppers in Qualifier 1.
