Islamabad United have dropped Shamar Joseph from the squad after he was recently picked in the PSL 2026 auction. They have now signed the premier speedster of Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarabbani, for the upcoming edition of the league.
As per a recent report, the contract between Islamabad United and Shamar Joseph has been terminated by mutual consent. The key reason for the termination has not been disclosed, however, it was earlier reported that many Pakistani fans are not happy with the signing of Joseph due to his controversial past.
“Neither the player nor the franchise intend to make a public statement on the matter, and that the decision is set to be approved by the PSL’s technical committee,” said a recent media report.
Shamar Joseph was bought by Islamabad United for Rs 11 million in the recent PSL 2026 auction. Shortly after the event concluded, the franchise received plenty of negative comments on social media over the signing of the West Indian star.
Blessing Muzarabbani is now set to replace Shamar Joseph in the United’s pace bowling lineup for the PSL 2026 season. The Zimbabwean star has previously played PSL for Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans from 2021 to 2024. He is a quality tall right-arm pacer who has the ability to swing the ball both ways early in the Powerplay. Islamabad has therefore brought him in the squad that includes many other notable names such as Shadab Khan, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman and more others.
Shadab Khan, Salman Irshad, Andries Gous, Devon Conway, Faheem Ashraf, Mehran Mumtaz, Max Bryant, Khurram Shahzad, Mark Chapman, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Mir Hamza Sajjad, Sameer Minhas, Sameen Gul, Imad Wasim, Richard Gleeson, Haider Ali, Mohammad Hasnain, Dipendra Singh Airee and Blessing Muzarabbani.
