India Crush Zimbabwe by 90 Runs as Ishan Kishan Stars in Dominant Victory
India continued their impressive form with a comprehensive 90-run win over Zimbabwe, thanks to a match-winning knock from Ishan Kishan and a disciplined bowling display.
Chasing a daunting target of 220, Zimbabwe never managed to build any meaningful partnerships. Brian Bennett provided an aggressive start with 32 off 19 balls, but regular wickets kept the visitors under pressure throughout the innings.
Dion Myers scored 12, while Ryan Burl contributed 20, but skipper Sikandar Raza was dismissed for a duck, further denting Zimbabwe's hopes. Tadiwanashe Marumani made 24, and Brad Evans added a quick 19, yet the batting lineup failed to withstand India's relentless attack.
Abhishek Sharma was the standout performer with the ball, claiming three wickets for 17 runs. Yash Thakur and Prince Yadav picked up two wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi, Shivam Dube, and Tilak Varma chipped in with one wicket apiece to bowl Zimbabwe out for 129 in 17.5 overs.
Earlier, India's innings was anchored by Ishan Kishan, who smashed a superb 81 off just 44 deliveries, setting the foundation for a formidable total of 219. His aggressive stroke play earned him the Player of the Match award, while he also contributed behind the stumps with two catches.
The convincing victory highlighted India's dominance with both bat and ball, comfortably sealing the contest by 90 runs.
