India Crush Bangladesh to Book Place in Women’s T20 Asia Cup Final

India booked their place in the ACC Women's T20 Asia Cup 2026 final after beating Bangladesh by 40 runs in the latest clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Shafali Verma set up the win with a fast-paced half-century before Deepti Sharma took three wickets to restrict Bangladesh on a low total. India now awaits the winner of the second semi-final between Pakistan and defending champions Sri Lanka, which will be played at the same venue on Friday.

India had a solid platform to defend after reaching 149/6 from their 20 overs in the first innings. Shafali Verma led their charge with a blistering knock, scoring 64 off just 40 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Interestingly, India’s opening partnership lasted only two overs, with Smriti Mandhana falling for two. Shafali, however, stayed in control for most of the innings, giving India a solid push towards a big total.

Meanwhile, India also received useful contributions from several batters in the middle and lower order. Pratika Rawal made 20 before captain Harmanpreet Kaur added an unbeaten 24. Richa Ghosh also scored 21, while Deepti Sharma's 13 runs helped India post a strong total.

For Bangladesh, Sultana Khatun caused the most damage with the ball, finishing with 2/30 from three overs. Besides her, Marufa Akter, Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan also took a wicket each, but failed to contain the momentum of India in the first innings.

Bangladesh had a tough task ahead of them as they needed 150 runs to win, but their chase never really got going. They finished on 109/7 from 20 overs and were knocked out of the tournament.

Shorna Akter tried to keep the chase alive and finished unbeaten on 22 from 18 balls. Besides her, Dilara Akter also made 21 from 26 deliveries, but no other batter supported her when the required rate started to go up.

India kept control with the ball throughout the innings, with Deepti Sharma doing most of the damage. She returned figures of 3/26 from her four overs, while Nandani Sharma claimed two wickets. Due to this collective bowling performance, India thumped Bangladesh by 40 runs in the latest clash and booked their place in the all-important Asia Cup 2026 final, which will be played on Sunday at the same venue.
