India Opts to Bat First Against Inspired Oman

In the last group stage game of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025, India has decided to bat first against Oman. The defending champions have made two changes to the squad by bringing in Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana in place of Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy. This will be the first game of Harshit for Team India in the tournament, as he would be looking to make an early mark in the bowling.

Talking about Oman, they would be looking to learn a lot from this game. Coming up against a team like India is certainly a challenge for Oman, as they are currently playing the Asia Cup for the first time. Their tournament certainly didn’t go well as they lost all the matches in Group A. This will be their last match, hence they will be hoping for some good performances in it.  

Regarding the batting lineup of Team India, the opening pair is unchanged, as well as the middle order. They have gone again with the aggressive duo of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill at the top. The middle order will consist of experienced players like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson and others.

The bowling lineup of Oman is pretty much the same for this game. Considering the heavy batting lineup of India, they have gone with 5 specialist bowlers and an all-rounder. It would be interesting to see how they will squeeze the batting power of India, which has till yet produced some splendid performances in the tournament.

The match is now underway at Abu Dhabi, and India has made a strong start in the Powerplay. However, Oman has also made an early breakthrough by sending Gill back to the pavilion, courtesy of some fine bowling by Shah Faisal.
