Ind vs Zim 1st T20 Powerplay: India Reached 68/1

HARARE: India’s explosive opening partnership laid an unstoppable foundation in the first six overs, powering the visitors to a commanding 68 for 1 by the end of the Powerplay against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.

Chasing 126, teenage wonderkid Vaibhav Sooryavanshi single-handedly dismantled the home side’s bowling attack. The 15-year-old prodigy showcased pure batting audacity, hitting 4 boundaries and clearing the ropes 4 times in an unforgettable 19-ball blitz. His blistering half-century completely deflated Zimbabwe's primary pacers, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava, who struggled severely with their lines under intense pressure.

While opening partner Abhishek Sharma fell early for just 1 run, Ishan Kishan stepped in efficiently to steady the ship, allowing Sooryavanshi to continue his aggressive onslaught. The young left-hander targeted Brad Evans relentlessly, drilling consecutive boundaries down the ground to keep India's scoring rate hovering well above 11 runs per over.

The incredible fireworks finally came to an end on the second ball of the seventh over when Sooryavanshi cut a delivery from Ngarava directly into the hands of third man. 

Despite losing the centurion just as the Powerplay concluded, the teenager's historic assault effectively broke the back of the chase, reducing the remainder of the contest to a mere formality.
