Ind vs WI Super 8 Live: Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan Keep India in Chase During Powerplay

Abhishek Sharma fell early for 10 off 11 balls, caught by Hetmyer off Akeal Hosein, leaving India at 29/1 in the third over. Ishan Kishan soon followed, caught by Hetmyer off Jason Holder for 10 off 6 balls, bringing more pressure on the Indian innings.

Sanju Samson stood firm at the crease, scoring 24 off 13 balls, including two towering sixes, while Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 3. The duo ensured India maintained a healthy run rate of 8.83 per over despite the early losses.

West Indies bowlers were disciplined during the powerplay. Akeal Hosein and Jason Holder picked up a wicket each, keeping India under check. Matthew Forde bowled three overs, conceding just 22 runs, applying tight pressure and limiting the flow of boundaries.

India will need Samson and Yadav to accelerate in the middle overs to stay in the hunt for the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 game. With West Indies’ potent bowling attack, every boundary will count in this chase.
