Abhishek Sharma Once Again Fail to Provide a Surge, India Struggles in Powerplay

The first six overs at Ahmedabad saw a dramatic Indian collapse in the first 2 overs. Ishan Kishan set the tone for disaster, falling for a duck in the first over to Aiden Markram. The situation worsened in the second over when Tilak Varma (1) was adjudged caught behind off Marco Jansen, burning a review in the process.

Abhishek, who entered the match with three consecutive ducks in the tournament, finally got off the mark with a boundary. He showed a flash of brilliance in the third over, smashing Kagiso Rabada for a six and a four.

However, the revival was short-lived; Lungi Ngidi’s tight fourth over strangled the scoring, leaving India reeling at 26/2. Abhishek eventually fell in the fifth over for 15, caught off Jansen, further deepening India's crisis.

After powerplay, India is at 31/3
