Hyderabad Kingsmen vs Peshawar Zalmi live: Iftikhar Ahmed’s Four-Wicket Powerplay Blitz Leaves Hyderabad in Tatters

In a breathtaking display of off-spin bowling, Iftikhar Ahmed has left the Hyderabad Kingsmen innings in tatters. He claimed four wickets in a sensational opening burst to leave the batting side reeling at 47/4 at the end of the Powerplay in Match 15 of PSL 11.

The decision by Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam to introduce spin early on the National Stadium surface proved to be a masterstroke. The collapse began in the third over when Maaz Sadaqat, looking too aggressive against the new ball, misread a straighter delivery from Iftikhar. 

The youngster's attempt to loft over the infield resulted in a thick edge that was comfortably pouched at short third man, sending him back to the pavilion as the first casualty of the night.

Iftikhar exploited the early grip on the Karachi surface, operating with surgical precision to dismantle the Kingsmen’s star-studded top order. He followed the first breakthrough by removing both Saim Ayub (14) and Sharjeel Khan (2) in a single devastating over. Ayub was beaten for pace on a quicker delivery that rattled his stumps, while Sharjeel’s mistimed pull shot was safely held at deep square leg. 

The demolition was completed when Usman Khan (0) became Iftikhar’s fourth victim. Within just 18 deliveries, Iftikhar recorded remarkable figures of 4 for 14, effectively breaking the back of the Kingsmen’s innings before the fielding restrictions had even ended. 

Amidst the carnage, the experienced Kusal Perera and Marnus Labuschagne are at the crease. 

With the Kingsmen losing their most explosive hitters for under 50 runs, the momentum is firmly in the hands of a jubilant Peshawar Zalmi side.
