KARACHI: Hyderabad Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne won the toss and elected to bowl first against the high-flying Multan Sultans in a Match 33 at the National Stadium.
Explaining his decision, Labuschagne cited the potential for evening dew to play a factor during the chase, alongside a desire to exploit any early moisture in the Karachi surface. The Kingsmen, currently on a resurgent three-match winning streak, have named an unchanged side as they look to break into the top four.
Conversely, Multan Sultans skipper Ashton Turner admitted he would have also preferred to bowl but remains confident in his side's batting depth.
The Sultans, sitting comfortably at second in the standings, are looking to repeat their clinical performance from earlier this month when they successfully chased down 225 against the same opposition.
With Sahibzada Farhan in blistering form, the Sultans will aim to set a formidable total on what appears to be a batting-friendly deck.
