Hoffenheim Beat Borussia Dortmund As Kramarić Scores Twice From The Spot

Andrej Kramarić scored two crucial penalties in the latest Bundesliga clash, as Hoffenheim beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in a game that could prove big for their Champions League hopes. It was their first win in five Bundesliga matches that gave their rough season a strong lift.

The match started at a fast pace, with chances at both ends. Hoffenheim almost scored early when Tim Lemperle met a cross with a volley, but his shot hit the crossbar with Gregor Kobel beaten. Dortmund had their moments too, but they couldn’t create clear chances, with Daniel Svensson going close from a header that just went over.

Just before half-time, Hoffenheim were awarded a penalty after a strange moment involving Niklas Süle. While falling, the Dortmund defender appeared to block a shot with his hand, which prompted a VAR check and ultimately resulted in a penalty. Kramarić took this opportunity and calmly placed his shot past Kobel to give Hoffenheim the lead at the break.

In the second half, Borussia Dortmund pushed higher up the pitch and kept Hoffenheim under pressure, but they still struggled to break through. Coach Niko Kovač brought on Serhou Guirassy despite injury doubts. However, even with more attacking players, Dortmund didn’t create many clear chances, and Hoffenheim held firm.

Just when it looked like Hoffenheim would win, Guirassy produced a moment of quality, turning and firing a strong shot from the edge of the box past Oliver Baumann to make it 1-1.

But the drama wasn’t over. Another VAR check ruled that Julian Ryerson handled the ball inside the box, and Hoffenheim were awarded another penalty deep into stoppage time. Kramarić stepped up again and scored in the same corner, sealing a dramatic win for Hoffenheim. This late strike was pretty special, as it left Dortmund stunned, giving Hoffenheim a memorable win at the PreZero Arena.
