Rawalpindi: The spinners of Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, were very effective over the Zimbabwean batting, as the hosts were limited to a small score in the fifth game of the T20I tri-series.
Having decided to bat first under lights at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe scored just 146/5 in their twenty overs.
Theekshana started with a bang and sent Tadiwanashe Marumani back to the pavilion with a wicket in the first over and another in the third over, giving the Sri Lankan camp a good start.
Dion Myers was dismissed for three runs when the veteran Brendan Taylor replaced him at the wicket. Taylor then formed a partnership with Brian Bennett in an invaluable 36-run partnership, which included the third wicket, providing the Chevrons with the much-needed stability.
