KARACHI: Hasan Ali has been signed by Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the upcoming Vitality Blast 2026, with the Pakistan fast bowler set to replace Naveen-ul-Haq, who has been ruled out due to injury. The T20 competition is scheduled to begin on May 22.
The club confirmed the development in an official statement, adding that Hasan will be available for the full duration of the tournament. He is also expected to feature in red-ball fixtures, including County Championship matches against Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
Hasan Ali arrives with extensive T20 experience, having represented Pakistan in 57 matches in the format. He is currently in action for Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2026, where he has made a strong start with the ball and sits among the leading wicket-takers in the early phase of the competition.
This will not be Hasan’s first stint in English domestic cricket. The 31-year-old previously played for Warwickshire across multiple seasons, where he built a strong record in T20 cricket with 44 wickets at an average under 15.
Yorkshire moved quickly to secure a replacement after Naveen-ul-Haq was ruled out, with the club’s management highlighting Hasan’s experience across formats.
“Whilst we're naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement,” said Yorkshire’s general manager of cricket, Gavin Hamilton.
“He arrives with a wealth of experience and a skillset that we believe will be invaluable to the group. We're delighted to have secured someone of Hasan's quality at such short notice, and everyone at the Club is looking forward to welcoming him to Headingley next month,” he added.
Hasan is expected to link up with the squad ahead of the start of the tournament later this month.
