Harry Kane Leads Bayern to German Cup Triumph With Stunning Hat-Trick

Bayern Munich beat defending champions VfB Stuttgart 3-0 in the German Cup final on Saturday, with Harry Kane scoring all three goals in the second half to help his side complete the domestic double for the first time in six years.

Harry Kane gave Bayern the lead with a header in the 54th minute. He added another goal 10 minutes before the end after a brilliant team move, and then completed his hat-trick with a penalty in stoppage time.

The England captain is in excellent form ahead of next month’s World Cup and has now become only the third player to score in every round of the German Cup, including the final.

Bayern, who were knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain this month, struggled in the first half and spent much of the time under pressure.

They went ahead against the flow of the game when Kane, who finished as the Bundesliga top scorer for the third season in a row, headed in a precise cross from Michael Olise 10 minutes after the break.

The match was briefly stopped around the hour mark after both sets of fans lit flares in the stands. The smoke stayed under the roof of the Olympic Stadium and made it hard to see clearly.

Stuttgart’s Chris Führich nearly scored with a header in the 76th minute, but four minutes later Kane ended their hopes of a comeback with a brilliant finish.

The 32-year-old first hit the crossbar with a strong shot, then picked up the rebound from a Luis Díaz pass inside the box. He quickly turned away from his marker and beat goalkeeper Alexander Nübel with a low strike.

Kane finished his outstanding display with a penalty in stoppage time, giving Bayern Munich the coveted German Cup title. His form suggests that England will also bank on him to perform strongly in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 that is starting from next month.
