Brook Relieved as England Revive T20 World Cup Campaign with a Crucial Win Over Scotland

Harry Brook took a sigh of relief after England overcame a collapse to defeat Scotland in the recent ICC T20 World Cup clash. He admitted that England haven’t played a perfect game yet, but they are learning from their mistakes and aiming to deliver better performances in the upcoming matches.

"I'm just glad that we got over the line tonight. We haven't quite had that perfect game yet. They've all been a little bit niggly so far. And hopefully we can have an easier game against Italy, and play our best cricket that everybody knows and loves. And we can put some smiles on some faces back home, and get through the group stage." said England T20I captain, Harry Brook.

Tom Banton, who was named Man of the Match after playing a strong knock of 63 runs, said he was waiting for the right over to play his big shots, and fortunately it arrived when Mark Watt was brought into the attack.

"I like to sweep and reverse, but I think my plan was to go as straight as possible. Then when they miss short, you can try and pull it away. When your match-up comes on, you've got to really try and take it down. And keep backing yourself." said Tom Banton after the match.

Meanwhile, Richie Berrington of Scotland feels his team missed a great chance to defeat England. He believes Scotland’s shot executions were slightly off in the final overs, which resulted in their quick collapse.

"That's something we'll probably reflect on. I think we knew spin was going to be key through that middle phase today, and obviously our execution was slightly off.” said Richie Berrington.

“Just being real clear on our best options, especially as we move on now to different conditions [after three matches in Kolkata]. That partnership through the middle was really good. It just wasn't quite long enough." added Richie Berrington.
