Hansi Flick Backs Barcelona to Overcome Injury Setbacks in Title Race

Hansi Flick Backs Barcelona to Overcome Injury Setbacks in Title Race

Barcelona is currently reeling with serious injury issues, as defenders Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are not expected to take part in the upcoming clash against Athletic Club. The manager of the Catalan giants, Hansi Flick, is not happy with this situation, but he also understands the unfortunate realities of the sport.

"These things happen. I'm not happy. We have to talk about what we can improve. That is always my responsibility. It's not on the medical staff or the physios, it's my responsibility.” said Hansi Flick while talking to the reporters on Friday.

The Barcelona manager further said that he wants to talk to the medical panel, so that the fitness of players can be managed effectively. As per him, it is certainly not an ideal scenario, as Barcelona is heading towards many crucial games in the upcoming days.

"I want to talk to the doctors, the physios and the technical staff to see what we can do better. It's about managing the team, and it's not pleasant, especially at such a crucial moment. But we're optimistic. This gives other players the opportunity to show how good they are." said Hansi Flick.

Keeping in view the long nature of La Liga, Hansi Flick understands that there are still many games left, which requires Barcelona’s management to use their players wisely and remain optimistic about strong performances.

"There's still a long way to go until the end of May. There are many games left. On Tuesday we had two more injuries... We have to deal with it and move on. We need to stay optimistic about the things we can't change," said Hansi Flick.

When asked whether he felt disappointed that Barcelona couldn’t reach the Copa del Rey final, Flick replied that he had no concerns because the team had showcased remarkable commitment.

"In the end it wasn't enough, and we have to accept that. But my feeling is that we are at a very high level - and that should give us confidence," said Hansi Flick.
