France vs Iraq FIFA World Cup 2026: Match Temporarily Suspended After Mbappe Scores Amid Bad Weather

The ongoing World Cup clash between France vs Iraq has been stopped for now because of bad weather.

At half-time, FIFA said the game had gone into “severe weather mode” after lightning was spotted near the stadium.

The second half will be delayed by at least 15 more minutes, on top of the normal 15-minute break.

Earlier in the game, Kylian Mbappe gave France the lead with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box. It was his third goal of the tournament.

France are currently looking strong on the board, as they have the momentum with 1-0. Iraq will now try to get an equalizer early if the match starts, however, it won’t be a straightforward task for them.
