FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony Details and Halftime Show Lineup Unveiled

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain will feature an expanded entertainment program, with organizers confirming the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony details and the tournament's first-ever half-time show 2026 at a World Cup final. The celebrations at New York New Jersey Stadium will include performances before kick-off, during the interval and after the trophy presentation.

Half-time Show to Extend Interval

The biggest addition to this year's final is the introduction of a full-scale halftime production. According to the announced half-time show details, the performance will be led by Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber, with Burna Boy also joining the lineup. Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel will oversee orchestral segments as part of the production.

To accommodate the stage setup and removal, FIFA will extend the traditional 15-minute break. The interval is expected to last between 20 and 30 minutes, allowing crews enough time to transform the playing surface before the second half begins.

The show has been produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation and will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Additional performers include the PS22 Chorus, Emmanuel Kelly, the Ghetto Kids and appearances from characters representing The Muppets.

Pre-Match Entertainment Confirmed

The FIFA World Cup closing ceremony details also include a pre-match event beginning around 90 minutes before kick-off. Post Malone has been announced as one of the headline performers, while Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini and Nicole Scherzinger are scheduled to perform "Desire," one of FIFA's official tournament anthems.

Jennifer Hudson will perform the United States national anthem before the teams enter the field. Actor Tom Cruise and online creator IShowSpeed are also expected to make appearances during the ceremony.

No Standalone Post-Match Concert Planned

While the day has been built around multiple entertainment segments, organizers have not announced a separate concert after the final whistle. Instead, attention will shift to the trophy presentation and celebrations involving the winning team.

The match itself remains the centerpiece of the occasion, with Argentina and Spain meeting to decide the first FIFA World Cup champion of the 48-team era. Music and entertainment will frame the event throughout the day, but the focus will ultimately return to football once the final gets underway.
