FATA 1st Innings Analysis

FATA began its innings with good performances by Haseebullah Khan and Mohammad Sarwar, who both played a very significant role in stabilizing the innings. Haseebullah Khan, especially, was very patient, and he made 63 out of 163 balls.

He made a vital contribution to the establishment of the total of FATA. Mohammad Sarwar contributed to the middle order stability too with a useful 80 runs. The remainder of the batting lineup, however, found it difficult to make use of these initiations.

Mohammad Sarwar's dismissal was one of the most important moments in the innings of FATA. His exit ended a fine collaboration, and the lower-order did not follow up.

FATA was finding it difficult to gain any momentum in their innings, and at a fast rate of wickets, they were unable to get their total higher. The team scored 273 runs in 92.4 overs at the end of the 1st innings.

Bowlers of Multan, especially Aamer Yamin, were very good during the innings. Yamin took five wickets and turned out to be the best bowler of Multan. His tight rein ensured that FATA was not able to form any large partnerships. Others, such as Muhammad Ismail, also contributed by taking very vital wickets at critical moments.

The total of 273 runs that FATA had was admirable, but not very confident. The performance of the team was also indicative of failed support to their key players, as they could not score a competitive total.

Multan 1st Innings Analysis

The star of the innings was Bismillah Khan, with a brilliant knock of 138 off 158 balls. His good shots’ selection and capability of finding gaps in the playing field gave him an opportunity to remain a constant threat to the bowlers of FATA. The century by Khan was the best part of the innings as he kept the scoreboard running.

Sharoon Siraj (61) also played a good knock. The alliance of Khan, Siraj, and Minhas played a crucial role in driving Multan to a solid overall. Although Multan lost a few wickets at the initial stage, their top and middle order continued the momentum.

Multan made 394 runs in 102.5 overs. It was a pretty good effort, and the team appeared to have control of the game.

Bowlers of FATA made their best efforts to hold the batting attack of Multan. The best bowler was Zahid Mehmood, who took five wickets for 99 runs. His performance became the best of FATA, but he was not given the support of the other bowlers.

Sameen Gul and Shahid Aziz were also performing well in bowling, but ultimately, Multan overcame them with its attacking strategy. FATA, however, was not able to crack the partnerships as fast as possible, and Multan won by a big margin.

FATA 2nd Innings Analysis

There was much work to be done by FATA when they went out to bat in their 2nd innings. They were now facing a target set by Multan with his robust first-innings score. Mohammad Farooq and Haseebullah Khan began well, but struggled to pick up the pace.

Farooq and Haseebullah Khan were on the defensive side, and the run rate was low. The conditions were slightly different, hence it was difficult to bat in the second innings.

By the end of day 4, FATA put only 39/1 in 9 overs. Mohammad Naeem and Haseebullah Khan were still at the crease, but there was now too little time to drive a result. The draw was well established because the two teams were out of time to drive to a decisive victory.

Final Words

The FATA vs Multan match ended in a draw, with both teams displaying impressive batting depth. The best performance of the match was by Bismillah Khan of Multan, and the performance of FATA was headed by Haseebullah Khan and Mohammad Sarwar in the 1st innings. The game was full of good individual performances, yet both teams failed to turn their strong starts into victory totals.

The 1st innings of Multan provided them with a healthy lead, though FATA came back in their 2nd inning. Although there was some good batting by Farooq and Khan, the absence of this type of partnership by the lower order meant that they were unable to compete with the score of Multan. The game was called a draw at the end of day 4,

Both teams demonstrated resilience in batting and individual brilliance. The match was still very valuable as it gave the fans much to be excited about in what the two teams are capable of, in subsequent matches.

Everyone is able to be proud of their performance, although the outcome may not have been in favor of both sides. It was a good contest that gave a permanent impression on the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025.
