England Defeat Norway 2-1 to Book a Spot in the FIFA World Cup Semi-Finals

England booked their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals after defeating Norway 2-1 in a hard-fought quarter-final that was decided in extra time. Jude Bellingham proved to be the match-winner, scoring twice to complete a remarkable comeback for the Three Lions.

Norway made a bright start and stunned England in the 36th minute when Andreas Schjelderup found the back of the net with a well-taken finish. The Scandinavian side defended well for much of the first half, limiting England's attacking opportunities and carrying a deserved lead for most of the opening period.

However, England hit back just before the half-time whistle through Bellingham, whose composed finish brought the score level at 1-1. The equalizer shifted the momentum, with the Three Lions looking far more threatening after the break.

Despite several attacking moves from both sides in the second half, neither team could find the decisive goal, forcing the contest into extra time.

England eventually found the breakthrough in the 93rd minute when Bellingham struck again to complete his brace. His extra-time winner handed England a 2-1 lead, and they held on for the remainder of the match to secure their place in the last four.

The victory keeps England's hopes of lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy alive, while Norway's impressive campaign comes to an end after a spirited performance against one of the tournament favorites.
