The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially announced a white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in early 2026, comprising three ODIs followed by three T20Is as preparation for the T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Venues are yet to be confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket.
The series gives England exposure to subcontinental conditions, spinner-friendly pitches and the humid climates. This will be similar conditions they are expected to face in the T20 World Cup next year.
This will be England’s first white-ball tour of Sri Lanka since 2018. In that series, England secured a 3‑1 win in the ODI series and also won the T20I on that visit. It also follows a hectic run that includes tours of South Africa and Ireland, a visit to New Zealand, and the Ashes in Australia. All this, leading to the T20 World Cup.
