Dipendra Singh Airee Scores 58 but Jason Holder’s 4/27 Restricts Nepal to 133/8 in Nep vs WI

Nepal posted 133/8 in their 20 overs in the Nep vs WI clash, with Dipendra Singh Airee producing a resilient half-century before Jason Holder’s disciplined bowling effort kept the total under control.

Early Collapse in the Powerplay

Nepal endured a shaky start after opting to bat, losing three wickets inside the first six overs. Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 1, Rohit Paudel fell for 5, and Aasif Sheikh managed 11 as the side slumped to 22/3 in the powerplay.

The early breakthroughs put pressure on the middle order, forcing Nepal into a rebuilding phase.

Airee Anchors the Innings

Dipendra Singh Airee stood firm amid the collapse and played a responsible knock under pressure. He scored 58 off 47 balls, striking three fours and three sixes, and brought up his half-century in 44 deliveries.

Airee carefully rotated the strike while ensuring the scoreboard continued to move. He added useful partnerships, including a crucial 50-run seventh-wicket stand with Sompal Kami, which came in just 24 balls and lifted Nepal past the 100-run mark.

Holder Halts the Momentum

Just when Nepal looked ready to accelerate in the final overs, Jason Holder struck at vital moments. The experienced all-rounder delivered a standout spell of 4/27 in four overs, removing key batters and preventing a late flourish.

Matthew Forde also impressed with a miserly 1/10 from his four overs, maintaining pressure from one end.

Late Push Takes Nepal to 133

Sompal Kami provided late resistance with an unbeaten 26 off 15 balls, hitting four boundaries to give Nepal a modest boost at the death. However, Holder’s timely breakthroughs ensured Nepal finished at 133/8 rather than pushing toward a bigger total.

The innings reflected a determined effort from Airee but also highlighted the impact of Holder’s match-shaping spell in the Nep vs WI contest.
