Karachi Kings announced via social media that David Warner will continue as captain for the Pakistan Super League 11, beginning March 26. The post read, “The leader, the legend, the King, David Warner returns as captain, ready to take the #KingsSquad to new heights in the upcoming season of the #HBLPSL.”
Warner’s retention highlights the franchise’s trust in his ability to guide the squad both on and off the field. Having first led the team in HBL PSL 10, Warner aims to convert last season’s momentum into a championship-winning campaign.
In his debut PSL season, Warner scored 368 runs across 11 matches, including three half-centuries, at a strike rate of 153.97. His experience and aggressive style are expected to anchor Karachi Kings’ batting lineup while motivating young talent in the squad.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has released the full PSL 11 schedule, which runs from March 26 to May 3. Eight teams will compete in 44 matches, including multiple double-headers. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the opening match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen, as well as the final, which also has a reserve day.
Karachi Kings, champions in 2020, will start their campaign against Quetta Gladiators on March 27 in Lahore. The expanded eight-team tournament marks a significant milestone in the PSL’s growth, promising high-intensity action and competitive cricket throughout the 39-day event.
With Warner at the helm, Karachi Kings are poised to challenge for the title, combining leadership, experience, and aggressive batting to make an impact in PSL 11. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how the Australian star translates his international success into PSL glory.
