CPL 2025 Venue & Format Overview
Six Caribbean countries will be staging the CPL 2025. We will also witness iconic grounds being brought to life at games filled with home passion and cricketing tradition:
Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis – Home to the inaugural match of the tournament on 14 August between Falcons and Patriots; capacity of around 8,000.
The one big stadium with a capacity of 10,000 is the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. It was named after the great Richie to recognise his achievements. By night, it is edge-of-the-seat stuff.
The one with a regional touch is the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia. It is located in Gros Islet, the King's home.
Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad – State-of-the-art stadium at Tarouba with training facilities, dedicated to the all-time great West Indian.
Kensington Oval, Barbados – A long-time favourite, the ground has a rich cricket history and is a traditional ground in Bridgetown.
The tournament will come to a finish at the Providence Stadium, Guyana. It is the final play-off venue.

Key Highlights by Venue
- Warner Park (St Kitts): Traditional CPL opener venue—charges up the atmosphere early.
- Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (Antigua): This stadium is a scenic dream; it features much to see and helps in doubling the capacity during major tournaments. It was built for the 2007 World Cup.
- Daren Sammy Stadium (St Lucia): Named for the island’s legendary all-rounder; a modern facility hosting mid-tournament matches.
- Brian Lara Stadium (Trinidad): A contemporary match venue in San Fernando—staged matches in late August to early September.
- Kensington Oval (Barbados): Historic ground with classic ambience and strategic match dates in early September.
- Providence Stadium (Guyana): The crossroad for playoffs and final, hosting the competition’s climax.
Why This Format Works
- To reduce luck and avoid the reward being given to consistency, each team will battle every other side twice
- Fan Engagement: Travelling across islands sustains regional excitement—fans connect with matches at home venues.
- Knockout Drama: We see hopes being kept a little alive, a little longer, with the dual-phase playoff (Qualifier and Eliminator). It also helps improve the competitive narratives.
- The ending at Providence Stadium ensures spectacle and neutrality in the championship match.
Final Word
A cultural touch is added by the venues hosting the matches across the Caribbean. It is safe to say this season has crafted a spectacle of competitive integrity, with its six host venues, double round-robin build-up, and knockout crescendo at Providence.
